| Composing for film and television has become an important focus for John. In addition to his rock and roll education, John has studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Ontario and at York University and scoring has become an increasingly active part of life at the Green Door.
In addition to traditional recording, the complete line of Native Instruments software, various VST instruments and software from Spectrasonics, all controlled from within Nuendo form the core of this activity.
Congratulations to PUDGE which continues to play at film festivals around the world. It has received several awards including :
- Best Short Film at the 2010 Cinecita Film Festival in Santa Marta Colombia
- PUDGE won the PLATINUM REMI AWARD at WORLDFEST in Houston, April 2009.
- Nominated for BEST OVERALL FILM in the Feature/Shorts category for the Taiwan International Children's Film Festival
- Pudge was acquired for broadcast by CBC Television (CBC Canadian Reflections, April 5th 2009), CanWest and Astral Media, and is currently airing regularly on TMN
